Description of the RM30-01:

The RM30-01 unit is primarily designed for controlling the chipping process in new battery-powered wood chippers, with the option to pre-set parameters for three different modes for processing wood or other commodities, directly selectable using function buttons. Another two buttons facilitate navigating the menu, which, together with the operating information, is shown on a graphic OLED display with a resolution of 128x64 pixels. The unit has its own real-time system, which runs even when the machine is switched off, owing to the built-in battery. For connection to the machine it is now equipped with a CANBUS, as well as five external button inputs for start, stop, reverse and a safety switch, which are adjustable for both NO or NC modes. The unit is also equipped with three outputs, which are designed for a load of 3A and their use is programmed, to suit the machine switching needs. All the outputs are designed as H-side switches with feedback. However, the main task in this unit is carried out by the CANBUS, via which most of the unit’s actions are executed. First of all, the unit reads the necessary information from the control units - the main motor control unit, the feed motor controller, the BMS battery unit and from the smart charger. Important information is continuously displayed on the display intro screen. Faults are displayed as priority in the event of a malfunction. Based on instructions from the binary inputs the running and speed of the main BLDC motor and the unit controlling the motors for feeding chipped material are controlled via the CANBUS. Everything is continuously and retrospectively diagnosed and evaluated for smooth continuous operation, but if an abnormality is detected, the machine automatically stops and the unit displays an error message indicating the type of error. The unit is naturally equipped with a total operating hour counter and a daily operating hour counter. The total operating hour counter can only be erased or changed by the manufacturer, unlike the daily counter, which can be reset by the user. For the purpose of regular service the unit enables the manufacturer to set the operating hour interval; the operator is informed in advance with a ‘service needed’ message flashing on the display. The accepted unit power supply and supply voltage is within the range 32 – 55VDC.  The unit is connected as standard by a Deutsch - 12-pin connector and the necessary wiring harness can be produced and supplied as an accessory, to suit the customer’s needs.
